Orphans Know more (OKM) is one of the flagship programs under NUST Community Services Club (NCSC), which aims to bridge the education gap withing Pakistan by regular visits to orphanages, with an aim to provide them with resources regarding their basic education. OKM events aim to fulfill UN SDGs 3 and 10 by improving the well-being of underprivileged children and reducing inequality created due to marginalization.
Under the OKM banner, NUST and NCSC volunteers made their first visit of the 2021-22 tenure, on the 23rd of January 2022 to Noreen Zindagi Welfare Trust, a home to 32 kids, age group 5-15. These visits take place to understand the basic needs of the children and to work on strategies and plans to provide them with a better future. We aim to establish a long-standing commitment with these Orphanages as well.
The volunteers conducted various activities at the orphanage and time was also allotted for weak children who needed help with their homework and studies. The members of the club also took goodie bags, juices, chips etc. for the children of Noreen Zindagi Welfare Trust.
